Early word comprehension has been extensively studied in the psychological and linguistic domains to gain insights in the processes involved in language development. One of the most used tools to measure word comprehension in very young children are parental reports. However, the use of direct measures as a convergent method to screen the accuracy of these reports is scarce, for that reason, the present study explores the effectiveness of parental reports of their infants’ early word knowledge in comparison with the outcomes of pupil dilation analyses as a direct measure of word comprehensioneng
