Abstract
Personal device integration is the process of interconnecting devices, such as mobile phones and home entertainment systems. In this thesis we examine the underlaying technology, the need for development and current progress in this field. We created a test suite in order to gain a better understanding of the difficulties surrounding this technology, and to see what functionality would be possible using the current technology. In order to get a broader view of this project, testing was done using different kinds of underlaying software and operating systems. These include Linux, Microsoft Windows XP and Vista, and the mobile operating systems S60 and Windows Mobile.
