Abstract
A rectangular parchment strip which bears writing in brown ink by the same hand on both sides. The quality of the writing surface is low. It is so thin that the ink has at places penetrated through to the other side affecting legibility primarily on the fl esh side. A crescent-shaped hole at the edge of one of the long sides is due to original construction defi ciency; the affected area has been avoided by the scribe who otherwise seems to have been at pains to exploit the entire available surface leaving virtually no margins and a minimum of blank spaces.
