Abstract
Det overordnede mål for denne oppgaven er å beskrive og forstå utviklingen av Aftenpostens økonomijournalistikk gjennom de siste 30 årene av det 20.århundre. Ved hjelp av kvalitative og kvantitative innholdsanalyser, kvalitative intervjuer og dokumentanalyser forsøker oppgaven å kartlegge utviklingen fra at Aftenposten ved epokens begynnelse var det sentrale mediet i det norske økonomijournalistiske feltet. En posisjon som avisen tapte i løpet av 1980-årene, til avisen våknet til en ny dyd for et økonomijournalistisk virke i 1990-årene.
Hovedoppgavens forskningsprosjekt var i sin tid knyttet til medieforskingen i Makt- og demokratiutredningen 1998-2003.
The main purpose of this thesis is to describe and understand the evolution of the economic journalism of the Norwegian newspaper Aftenposten during the last 30 years of the 20th century. Supported on scientific methods of quantitative and qualitative content analysis, qualitative research interviews and document analysis the history of from Aftenpostens dominant position in the Norwegian field of economic journalism in the 1960 s, and70 s, through the loss of the dominant position in this filed during the 1980 s, to an awakening of a newfound virtue for economic journalism in the 1990 s.
The research project was originally a part of the media research programme of the large Norwegian power-research programme Makt- og demokratiutredningen 1998-2003.
