Abstract
The object of analysis in this thesis is the origin and development of interactive programmes on NRK 2, and how these programmes interacts with the changing technological and economical challenges facing NRK. The analysis is based on qualitative interviews and document analysis. The change of external conditions is based on digitalization of production and distribution, and how this increases the number of television-channels and the competition. The technological development makes possible a convergence between different traditional media-platforms. One type of convergence is the development of interactive services. The interactive programmes on NRK2 uses these services to establish a television concept where the interaction from the viewers is central thru chat and different systems of vote. The participation represents a source of income for NRK and increases the hours of transmitting without higher financial expenses.
It also increases the participation from young viewers. The two programmes Svisj and Svisj-show are analyzed more in detail and give examples on how these programmes deal with economy and technology.
