A study of the action propagation in excitable cardiac cells. In this thesis we look at different mathematical models for simulating the biophysiological phenomena of wave propagation and fibrillation. Furthermore, we propose some numerical methods for solving the equations which arise in when considering the electrical activity in cardiac tissue. Lastly, we try to distinguish various break up patterns by comparing the normed results of these simulations.eng
