Abstract
In light of the regional tensions and instability arisen in connection with the unsettled seabed delimitation of the Caspian Sea, the thesis discusses and analyzes agreements of the coastal States and international law in order to ascertain what rules are relevant to the seabed delimitation issue. The thesis then examines how the contentions of Turkmenistan and Iran, which appears to be hurdles to reach final agreements, are to be addressed. Finally, the thesis presents rational ways to effect the delimitation of the Caspian seabed under the applicable law with a view to achieving an equitable solution as per international law.
