Abstract
This article gives an overview of a pending claim before the Norwegian claims that petroleum licences granted in the Barents Sea are invalid due to not taking sufficient account of climate consequences. The legal basis of the case is the ‘environmental provision’ in section 112 of the Norwegian constitution. The case has been litigated and decided in the first instance, and is currently pending before the Court of Appeal.
