This thesis is a discussion on how we identify with the place we live and how we can make good places to live now and in the future. The idea is that if we feel at home in and identify with the place we live, we want to preserve it and make it better for the future. This can have effect on the environment and the climate. If we build places that are good to live in and the people who live there identify with their home place, they would want to live more sustainably. There is also a discussion on what identities are made up of, how they are encouraged and how identities are reflected in place. The thesis also discusses several theories and ideas on what a home place includes, how they look and how we should act in the places we live in both urban and suburban setting. Also, the thesis includes discussion on alternative ways we can build homes, such as tiny houses.
