Abstract
Beckwith-Wiedemann syndrome (BWS) is characterized by increased growth during gestation and infancy. The syndrome is caused by a dysregulation of genes. The condition is highly variable clinically. Makroglossia (large tongue) occurs in 99% of cases and can cause discrepancies in occlusion. We have investigated oral motor functions and occlusion with clinical examination and performed model analysis. Because of a small number of patients included in the study, we can only point out the possible connections and relationships that may occur in these individuals.
