Abstract
Oppgaven er en studie av innvandring fra Norge til Queensland i Australia i perioden 1870-1914. Avhandlingen tar for for seg betingelsene for migrasjon til Queensland. Deretter studeres selve innvandringsforløpet. Videre analyseres den norske bosetningen i Queensland med særlig vekt på arbeidsdeltakelse, bosetningsmønster og etnisk tilpasning.
The thesis is a study of migration from Norway to Queensland, Australia, from 1870 until 1914. First, the thesis discusses the conditions for migration to Queensland. Secondly, it examines the migratory process itself. It then moves on to an analysis of the Norwegian settlement in Queensland, with particular focus on employment, settlement patterns and ethnic adjustment.
