Abstract
Worldwide and regional information society is facing unlimited challenges regarding the cybercrime sphere, due to the novelty of the cybercrimes and fast changing backgrounds of it. Regions, specific countries seemed not to be able to provide legal and technical measures which would be considered as up to date and would ensure efficient regulation field. One of this dangerous cybercrimes is identity theft, as the vast majority of the electronic crimes is committed in accordance with identity theft, this cybercrime sphere reveals major inadequacies of regulation, which leaves legal gaps and free plot for the cybercriminals to perform their malicious acts regarding this sphere. This thesis work review the major legal problems regarding this sphere in international, regional and national legal plots, providing the analysis what is provided and what legal and technical measures should be adopted in order the cybercrimes and its specific malicious spheres like electronic identity theft would be stop and legal harmony in this sphere would be established.
