dc.description.abstractAbstract Food allergy is a complicated field in pediatry. There is done a lot of research on the subject; However, many problems are still unsolved. This thesis is about food allergy, with a focus towards primary health care. Mechanisms of food allergy, symptoms and treatments are discussed. We present the mechanisms in terms of type 1, 2, 3 and 4 reactions. A brief overwiev of diet restrictions and their consequences is given, as well as recommendations to atopic children. Further we discuss what food causes allergic reactions and the mechanism called cross reactions. A case study from primary health care is also being presented.nor
